New Sun Gate Motel

My son and stayed here for 2 nights while on a fishing excursion in Boynton Beach. The room was clean, cool and comfortable and everybody working there was pleasant and helpful. It has a fun "Old Florida" feel with a beautiful, lush little courtyard surrounding a crystal clear swimming pool. It's only a few minutes away from a Bayside park with a boat ramp, and 10 min away from Lake Worth or Boynton Beach. Great location with an authentic Florida vibe. We will be back soon!

Overall, I enjoyed my experience. Yes, the hotel is older and weathered, but it definitely has a quirky charm to it. There is a courtyard with tropical plants and trees that are nicely maintained. At night, with the lights and the blue color from the lit pool, it makes for a really nice ambiance. I enjoyed the free breakfast offered each morning. The lady who cooked on the weekend was kind. They cook your eggs to order, which was unexpected and really nice. My only complaint was that I had trouble using my keycard to open the front gate and my room door, but if you just pick up the wall phone and call the staff, they were always responsive right away to help you with whatever you needed. When I travel, I always pick my hotels based on price and location. This motel came through on both. You will be hard-pressed to find anything at a better price point and value anywhere in South Florida. You are about a mile and a half to Lake Worth Beach. If you want to walk it, there is a sidewalk the entire way and it is a nice walk. If you drive, it's less than 5 minutes to the parking lot near the beach. If you are going elsewhere, you are just a few minutes to the on-ramp to I-95 to get where you need to go fast. It is only about 15 minutes south of Palm Beach International Airport, so really convenient if you are tired after a day of travel and don't want to drive too far. As far as the area, the neighborhood is nice, and Lake Worth itself is a small quiet beach town. If you are looking for a quieter more low-key experience compared to Fort Lauderdale or Miami, this is it.

This is a great hotel to stay. The rates are good, the rooms are great, housekeeping is daily and thorough. Shawn and Mike at the front desk will make you feel very welcome and help you with any need. If you are looking for a great place to stay The New Sungate Motel is a choice you won’t regret.

This place feels like a retro 80’s era Florida experience. If you like better call Saul or Scarface then this place is pure nostalgia. It’s beautiful, clean and the owner is really friendly and kind. I would 100% recommend anyone looking for a safe and quiet place to come to the New Sun Gate Motel. I think it’s one of the last places of its kind left in south Florida. You can’t go wrong with tile floors and a glass table, including the nice scenery they have outside the rooms. It’s totally the Florida vibe I grew up with. Enjoy your stay.

I made a 5-day reservation. I ended up getting here 24 hours ahead of time. It was 6 hours before actual check in. The owners went above and beyond to get me in a room instead of making me wait outside in the heat for 6 hours. Like most places would normally do! That showed me that they have compassion. I got my things in a room and then had breakfast. Two eggs to order, two pieces of sausage, toast and coffee.At no charge! The overpriced motels give us Scooby snacks and call it a complimentary breakfast! The pool area and the courtyard is very peaceful! Im grateful I chose this place then I will come back again when I come to the area! All the staff is very cordial, respectful and go out of their way to help if you ever need anything!
